MOE says it owes no teacher any allowance or salaries.
We owe no teacher an allowance or salary arrears - Minister of Education, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh states.
The Ministry of Education has been drawn to publication which suggests that, the Minister of Education, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has said that teachers are not owed any allowances.
The Ministry would want to state that;
1. The Minister has not stated anywhere that, teachers are not owed allowances or salaries.
2. The Minister, rather, indicated that, since 2017, teachers recruited are not owed any allowances.
3. Government is working with unions to settle 2012-2016 allowances that the NDC government never paid. Government has paid substantial amounts with little outstanding.
Therefore, Media outlets are entreated to be truthful in their reportage and adhere to the ethics of their profession by avoiding misleading headlines.
