The Foundation of Orthopedics and Complex Spine (FOCOS) is a non-profit organization, established in 1998 in the United States and Ghana by Dr Oheneba Boachie-Adjei
A Ghanaian Philanthropist, Mrs. Zoe Dzifa Djin, an experienced Parenting Skills Practitioner and Emotional Health Practitioner based in London made a donation to the children’s department at the FOCOS Orthopedic Hospital on Friday, April 12, 2019.
The items were donated to support the basic necessities of the children and also in honor of her late Aunty, Pauline M. Clerk who lived her whole life in generosity and service to others.
During the presentation she said, “I heard about the work of FOCOS through Mrs. Pearl Akosah, the Director of Development at the FOCOS US office, who is an old friend and year group mate from Wesley Girls High School. My conversation with her about the vision of FOCOS inspired me to support their mission."
The items were received by Vivian Quarshie the Administrative Manager and Edith Nkrumah, the Senior Finance Manager in a brief ceremony held at the Wayne & Claire Heylands Educational Center.
Mrs. Djin later organized a party for the children, after which she was taken on a facility tour to interact with some members of staff. The team at the hospital also thanked her for her donation and commended her efforts for supporting underserved children with musculoskeletal deformities.
